Tae Bo Bootcamp Shred

This is a review of the Billy Blanks Dojo series Tae Bo Bootcamp Shred

First of all, I come from a background of spousal abuse so the way Billy treated the background exercisers was abusive in my opinion. He treated some of the women mean, physically pushing them around, negatively commenting on them(their form and when a woman was screaming he said a negative comment about her scream saying, "Don't stand their screaming, do something while you scream"). He yelled in there faces and just seemed plain scary. I know its supposed to be "Bootcamp" but does it have to be army style? He was constantly verbally abusing this guy named Charlie telling him he was going to come back and do something to him. There isn't any swearing but still, I was traumatized to this type of teaching style. It really left me feeling like never doing this workout again. Yuck, Billy's charm definately has disappeared in this Tae Bo.

The workout starts off VERY slow and then picks up around the 9 minute mark with jacks. NO stretching at the beginning. He does some bootcamp combinations which include pushups. The music is instrumental and gets inspiring in the middle of the workout but overall, the music isn't that motivating.

He does hop side kicks, front kicks and side kick combinations. BUT....there is one combination where he does stationary round house kicks on the right leg but never does them on the left. There is also some plyo moves to go anaerobic. The cast gets out of sync with the music..and Billy keeps having to say "Beat!Beat!". I have to say there is a nice variety of kicks. And not so much punching. He goes down to the ground to do some fast back kicks, roundhouse kicks and oblique work and tons of pushups. Then you get back up and do more punches. There are some standing front ab crunches too The crew looks like they are dying at the end
The set is light and Billy gets so sweaty sometimes his mic makes weird noises.
There are just a few stretches at the end. Billy gives a long speech about your body and eating right. It was hard for me to listen to it after the way he treated the group.
