Athena is a half hour, full body/stength workout on the Kettlebell Goddess Workout DVD. It's the longest workout on the DVD, and includes the same joint mobility warm-ups and ending stretches found on the other workouts on this DVD.
Military Press: 4 on each side with one kettlebell or 8 holding two; 3 sets.
Front squat: six reps; 3 sets. They show modifications including holding two kettlebells in the rack position.
Lat pulls: 6 each side for 3 sets.
Clean, press, overhead squat: done in that sequence, 6 times on each side, for 3 sets.
Snatches: 15 on each side. You might want to note on the Dragon Door website this is described incorrectly when you click on the link describing each series of moves in the workouts.
Standing power breathing: 8 in the center and 5 on each side.
This is a totally kick-butt workout that left me breathless long before we reached the mini clean, press, overhead squat circuit.
As in all the Goddess workouts, you won't find a fancy set, motivating music, or perfectly choreographed moves. What you WILL find is serious, perfect instruction, by three beautiful ladies who are clearly experienced kettlebell users.
