Cardio & Weights

I often tire of my workouts after a few years, but this one has had more staying power than most. I don't do it that often - as a circuit workout, it doesn't always fit in. But it is fun. The music can be a little corny in places, but it has a lot of vocals, and for some reason, that is the most important thing to me when I'm doing step.

I'm not sure many will have a lot of fitness gains with this one. The cardio is not super intense, and the weight sections are short. However, when you are having one of those weeks where it is hard to fit in workouts, it does a good job of hitting everything in an hour, including abs/core. It is a decent "maintenance" workout for me.

The abs/core work is probably my favorite section of the entire dvd. It has a good lower ab focus and includes some nice plank work, so I use this section the most. In a pinch, the step only premix is really nice shorter step workout, and you can do the weights portion for a quick upper body workout. I don't do that very often anymore, because I reach for Body Max 2 instead when I want a super fast upper body workout. Like Cathe's other circuit workouts, the premixes on this one are acutally pretty useful.
