Moms with Muscle Step it Up

Julie B.
Year Released: 2005

Categories: Total Body Workouts

This starts out with a short segment on why to work out. There is no "warm up" or "cool down" portion. She has 3 different groups of routines. The DVD was filmed at her house and uses the real bedrooms and such.
1) Free Weights. She does Lunges, knees extentions, hamstring curls and calf raises. My "D" shaped weights didn't work for the first three of this group. Then Julie moves into Chest Flies and Presses,Bent Over Rows and Cross Overs. The to "Arnold" presses, Concentration Curls and Triceps.

2) Julie introduces Bands here. You need a pole or something to wrap the band around, besides a chair. She does squats, knee extentions, Leg Adductions,Seated Rows, Lat Pulldowns, Chest Presses, Shoulder Presses, Biceps, Triceps and Kneeling Crunches.

3) Julie uses the stability ball and works the same muscle groups as before.

Julie does NOT do all the reps she asks you to do in the video. I had to stop it and continue. She does 5-10 or so of each exercise andthen moves on.
So the length of the video doesn't include doing it completely.

At the end her other two DVDs get a short Collage style preview.

Instructor Comments:
Julie is very down to earth. She's a bit of a clown, joking about things (there's a funny video about her life done in fast speed about getting up, getting kids going, etc). She gives good form pointers but isn't serious all the time(she does some funny voices, like imitating Arnold Schwarenegger). She is very personable, not intimidating in the least. Would be very good for a beginner mom. She comes off like the knowledgable mom that she is.
