Burn at the Barre for Beginners

This has some really good points: it is short (it's hard to find barre dvds that are under an hour). It is fairly easy and shows even easier modifications (great for recovery days or tired days or lazy days!) The moves are simple, the instruction clear.

In my opinion, this dvd is beginner because of length and difficulty...but it's not the dvd I would suggest for barre-beginners in terms of FORM INSTRUCTION. The instruction here is fine, but I prefer the detailed hows and whys that you get with some of the "bigger" barre names (my top vote being the Bar Method). That said, if someone doesn't care so much about getting the perfect positioning or their tuck form just right -- or someone who just wants to give barre a try without a huge commitment -- then this is a good one to try. The dvd atmosphere is calm, but I didn't necessarily find it boring. I would've liked a bit more stretching *throughout* the dvd, but really, at such a short run-time, I'm not surprised it's missing. My biggest complaint is that I wish there was a few more minutes of arm work. I did find weighted arm work to be a little neglected (though this is a fairly common flaw in barre dvds I've tried.)

Instructor Comments:
Professional instruction, clear direction, modifications shown. The setting is a very small, cramped-looking space, but it's bright & uncluttered.
