It's hard not to compare black female instructors with
Donna Richardson, but Charlotte Williams really is a lot
like her. She's professional in her cueing, leading you
easily from one move to the next, yet humorous and
enthusiastic and non-whooping. Charlotte is another to
add to my list of "undiscovered gem"
instructors - Christi Taylor, Linda McHugh, Gay Gasper,
Lynda Nader - who deserve more exposure and more (or
better) videos. Charlotte has the sincere, down-to-earth
enthusiasm of a kid at the playground eager to show off
all the latest dances. Between her thorough cueing, she
motivates by giving the steps cute names like "black
bottom" and saying things like "act like one of
the Supremes!"
