This is quick 27 minute toning workout using the pretty salmon pink resistance band that comes with the DVD. The DVD case says 40 minutes, but it's definitely 27 minutes only.
This is not FIRM or Cathe or Jari Love, but this is a quick tone up for people short on time, recovering from an injury or illness, or (like me) in the early weeks of pregnancy and barely able to keep up with normal workouts.
The workout is broken down into 4 segments, Chest & Back, Arms, Lower Body and Stretching. Basically you work your pecs, biceps, triceps, upper back, lower back, legs and abs. Leslie does not believe in counting or sets, but I'm pretty sure one side gets worked less than the other, so you will want to keep count on your own. Since she's chatty and casual, I focused on doing reps to fatigue by tightening the band, and it was enough to remind me I have some muscles there. She does a set of static lunges on each leg using the band, but more experienced exercisers can dump the band for that.
Downside: there is only one ab exercise and the cooldown is light.
I give it a solid B, good for beginner level or first time exercisers.
Leslie is just as chatty as ever. I enjoyed having her like a personal trainer, with no background exercisers.
