This is a fairly simple kickboxing workout that can be done in around 36 minutes.
It is a pretty typical Gilad set up. It is set on a beach in Hawaii and Gilad there
are multiple background exercisers behind him. On GLARING difference in this workout
- no bikinis! All the exercisers have long black pants on. The music is instrumental
and minimal. I don?t think I could even describe it because I paid no attention
On cardio work, I am an intermediate to advanced exerciser who enjoys with complex
choreography at some level. I also enjoy my "easier" workouts on those mornings
I don't feel like thinking that much. I tend to do more kickboxing during periods
of stress in life and it is a good alternative to dancey hi/lo and step workouts.
For me, Gilad is an instructor that I usually either like his workouts a lot or
I don't care for them at all. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. I find
his cardio either too high impact and/or too boring. But, I keep trying his workouts
because I hope to find a gem among those that I don?t like. I always seem to like
HIM as an instructor even when I don't like the workout itself because I find him
This workout is comprised of some drills followed by some combinations. He goes
through a basic warm up. Then, he goes through kicks and punches. He uses some
kickboxing lingo; sometimes, he more describes that he wants you to do. Then, he
put together three fairly simple combinations. They are comprised of more punching
with a little bit of kicking. The pace is fairly slow for a kickboxing workout.
I thought I was going to be bored, and then I enjoyed it because I had time to get
all the moves in without a lot of rushing. On this brain dead kind of morning,
that was nice. I ended up finding the combinations fun.
He moves around a little, but not a lot of space is needed. He gives good explanations
of what he wants you do, but not many kickboxing form pointers, so you need to have
an idea of what you are doing. With the slower pace though, you don?t have to be
a kickboxing pro. If you are majorly into kickboxing and/or high intensity, you
probably would find this workout too basic and slow moving. I will keep this workout
for those light days I want to get something in, but don?t have a lot of energy
I find him a motivator. I like his descriptive style of leading a workout. His
low-key humor doesn't hurt.
