Censored Double Step

Jen Davis

I won't be coy: This tape is awful. The shame of it is that in the hands of a better instructor, the double step routine is pretty good. Production quality aside (and this is worse than the average Sara's City), the routine is broken down so badly and slowly that I just wanted to scream. I rarely curse at my TV but this was just so bad. I even popped it out once but 9001 wasn't cued past the warmup so I decided to finish it.
Davis breaks down the routine all on one step, at a ridiculously slow pace with very simple moves done half time three or four times (plummeting heart rate). Finally, she puts the moves together but it's kind of a surprise what will go where or what direction you'll be facing. She teachers moves iwth her back to you and she teaches moves while your back is to her. She teaches the entire routine on one bench and just when you think she will never even use the other bench, she says let's try it over there with nary a preview. I could go on, but you get the point.
It's such a shame that there are not better double step tapes out there; they are so much fun! But so far the only ones I've found worthy of the time is CIA 9803 and Jennifer Mills Step 2 It (and even that one is borderline).

Instructor comments: She's neither here nor there, but her cueing is awful. Not only that, but she can't even do her own move! Three times, her background exerciser performs her trickiest move and she messes it up.
