The goal of this video is to present a basic
strength workout appropriate for teenage exercisers.
Unfortunately, this admirable goal is betrayed by the
poor sound quality on this video. At times it is
difficult to understand the instructor, Stu Kaminsky, but
this is due to the sound quality, not Stu's instruction.
The exercises are easy to follow, though Stu's form
pointers sometimes get lost in the music.
Stu guides
three teen exercisers (Dan, Eddie, and Sarah) through a
warm up, basic strength training exercises with and
without light weights, and a cooldown stretch. He shows
several variations of most exercises, and gives form
pointers throughout. The workout includes squats (without
weights), push-ups, crunches, leg lifts, upright rows,
bicep curls, lunges, shoulder presses, bent over rows and
toe raises.
Because teenagers are unpredictable creatures, I
cannot say whether or not this video would be appealing
to your partcicular teenager. The teens in the video look rather bored. The producers have attempted to give the video
an MTV look with prism-like borders around the screen and
some jerky slo-mo camera work.
