Jamie Brenkus
This tape is useful for tacking on basic ab exercises to other videos. If you are looking for innovative ab work, this is not the tape for you. This tape consists of the average, everyday crunches, reverse curls and oblique work. There are days when I can't get the music off of my mind. You know, the kind of music that you hear in your head for the rest of the day? Other than that, the tape is ok.
Instructor comments: Not a standout, but not annoying.

This video has been around since 1994, but it is still a very popular
video. I own about 90 exercise videos right now, and I put off buying
this one for a long time because I never thought I could get a good
workout in 8 minutes. About a month ago I finally bought the video and I
am very glad that I did. It is 8 minutes long - no warm-up, no
cool-down, and definitely no breaks in between exercises. Jamie takes
you quickly from one exercise to the next. He gives great form pointers
and encouragement throughout the workout. There are 9 different ab
exercises: basic crunches, oblique crunches, toe touches, reverse
crunches, side crunches, push throughs, leg push ups, alternating curls,
and curls. There is nothing fancy here, just basic and effective
exercises. The video was filmed outside in a grassy field by a lake, and
Jamie has two other people exercising with him. On the left side of the
screen there is an 8-minute count down timer that shows how much time is
left in the workout. On the right side there is another timer that
counts down 45 seconds for each exercise. Overall, this seems to be an
intermediate to advanced level workout. It is short, but it is also very
intense. I usually like doing longer ab workouts, but I always choose
this video when I am short on time, but still want to work hard.
